Behind SilverStream
Owners Bruce and Bonnie Burman first entered the coffee business all the way back in 2006, when they opened Kairos Coffee Roaster and Tea Co in Butler, PA. Two years later, they moved the business inside the Iron Mountain facility (the underground, as it is known by the locals) in Boyers, PA where they still operate today. Shortly thereafter, Bruce began perfecting our Baseline Roast that we use for every drop of espresso we serve.
We spent many years enjoying our time in Iron Mountain, becoming ingrained in the community and always striving to perfect our service and product. And then something unexpected happed: In 2020 our operation in Iron Mountain was closed for 7 months due to Covid restrictions.
A few weeks into the closure, Bruce came up with the idea of opening a coffee trailer. Starting with a converted horse trailer, we began serving coffee to the Cranberry Township community. A year later, we opened our dream coffee bar in a vintage Airstream trailer.
In the fall of 2024 another big change happened. We rebranded! We are now SilverStream Coffee Roasters.
Today we serve both Cranberry Township and Iron Mountain. Both of these communities have been incredibly supportive and loyal. We know most of our customers by name and they know our names too. We wouldn't have it any other way.
